pie on the windowsill

Journal pies:

Sitting on the windowsill with drying glue, paint, gesso, fingerprints ...
Art journaling is my choice for a morning practice of mindfulness. Similar to "morning pages" as touted by Julia Cameron - which I've never been able to do consistently. Probably because I'm self critical about the written word. Nevertheless, I have a story to tell.
How do you tell your story?

I have a hard time keeping up with a written diary, too. I start one every year and then forget about it. We travel and I say I'll do a journal of what we do and see and where we go and I never follow through. I would love to page through your journals. I know they are filled with so much creative energy and love. Best wishes, Tammy

I've recently begun a somewhat daily practice of a few words and a sketch. I can't draw but it seems like a sketch should go with the words. I'd love to try my hand at an art journal but I'd be winging it.

Winging it - that's when the best things happen

I can't even imagine how breathtaking your "morning pages" must be -- works of art, I'm sure. As for my own morning pages, I did do it for a year or so over twenty years ago (in fact, I was living in a house in upstate New York, pregnant with Sophie for part of the time!), but I have found that I'm actually more creative late at night. While I love getting up early, I really don't warm up enough to write, so I guess I do "night pages!"

I do a modified version of Morning Pages with occasional sketches, and I keep small 3x5 journals on my desk for bits and bobs of things that catch my fancy. Your journals looks so inviting - just beautiful.

Love your full and fabulous journals so much! I am rediscovering mine, as I let that healthy daily practice go by the wayside. Yours inspire!!!
Happy mornings to you!

There's something quite magical and inspiring seeing others' journals. Yours look very intriguing. :)
I do Morning Pages as per Cameron but I struggle between the writing practice and wanting to do art journals. There's only so many hours in a day (and I could easily spend all day just art journaling!)
